Breaking Newton's Law Of Inertia: Simultaneously Living At Rest And In Motion
December 30, 2017
2StepExec clients take action in their lives from a place of confident and genuine rest.
As the founder and president of 2StepExec, my greatest desire is for our clients to sincerely find themselves in the current chapter of their story, rest in this place and discover how they can best move forward, restoring and maintaining their health both personally and within their communities allowing them to continue to offer their own unique, powerful and skilled gifting for the building up of others in their high performance, high demand profession. I desire for our clients to find rest as they align life's performance demands with their personal values and needs, strengthening their ability to authentically persevere and grow.
Bottom line: I hope for our clients to break Newton's law of enertia that states an object at rest remains at rest and an object in motion remains in motion. For my clients, my vision is that rest and motion co-exist. I want our high-achieving clients to embrace their design and thrive.
To that end, as theologian John Piper says, you need to "put your mind into the service of your hope. Put your thinking into the service of your feeling.”
Rather than being directed by our emotions, paralyzed by our feelings, our stressors, or unaware of them altogether, we need to consider what we know to be true in the midst of what we are feeling and courageously take action from those places of truth, of reality.
We need to take action, even as we continue to feel, else, as writer C.S. Lewis's senior demon character Screwtape declares to his nephew and junior temptor Wormwood about the human he is tempting in the book The Screwtape Letters, "The more often he feels without acting, the less he will be able ever to act, and, in the long run, the less he will be able to feel."
And I say that the less we are able to feel, the less we truly live.
So, we at 2StepExec commit to continuously developing and intentionally applying pure coaching skills and process in order to help you put your thinking into the service of your feeling and to work with you to create the restorative space for you to:
· see more clearly,
· think more productively,
· respond more purposefully and positively,
· and persevere in truth
thus, strengthening and sustaining your performance, allowing and empowering you to confidently and genuinely take action to take the next best step in your work and personal life. In a sense, encouraging you to truly live.
“…active habits are strengthened by repetition but passive ones are weakened. The more often he feels without acting, the less he will be able ever to act, and, in the long run, the less he will be able to feel.”
