Dreamer. Deep Thinker. Different.
Our vision is to see women everywhere who have been shaped by college sports experiencing spiritual, emotional, and physical wholeness so they keep going strong.
New to Jill?
Jill is a dreamer. A deep thinker. And, as you can probably tell by the image above, she is different.
While that is not a picture of her as a child, it certainly could be. Card board boxes and duct tape were—and still are—a staple resource for her.
“Wake up from your slumber. Open up your eyes. Stop complaining, stop self-serving and self-protecting. Stop dusting yourself with Tinkerbell’s magic for temporary flight. Wake up from your slumber and walk with confidence and joy in the light.”
-Jill Williams
Dear friend,
It’s important that the first thing you hear from me is that I do not have answers for you. I do not have answers for your staff. And I don’t have answers for any staff you struggle to lead.
None of our MettlEdge team have answers for you.
What we do have for you is a powerful belief in you.
We have seen what happens when people choose to be still long enough to let the dust settle and take a look around.
They think better.
They make better choices.
They move themselves forward toward the things that matter most to them because they get straighted out on the inside. They develop the things they were made to be. In other words, they develop a strong sense of self, purpose, and belonging-what we refer to as Their MettlEdge.
They are better.
They begin to thrive on the inside. So, they show up and lead better on the outside.
But here's the best part, when we arm them with a solid assessment of their natural strengths and limitations and give them tools to apply the results in everyday leadership and life, they are equipped to lead with more clarity, confidence, and connection. If they choose to give themselves permission to be the everything they were made to be, that is what they will do: lead with more clarity, confidence, and connection.
They start to align themselves and others with what they each were made to do best--no judgement, no bias, no need to be good at all the things! They thrive even more in the grind and lead others to do the same.
What's best of all is that women who give themselves permission to be the passionate and people-centered everything they were made to be build healthy, high performance cultures. That is their ultimate job.
It is my job…
and the job of our MettlEdge team, to host you in safe conversations where you can let down your guard to be still, known, and enjoyed in order to shine a light on those answers you already have in your gut so you grow in the ways you want to grow.
Again, we don't have the answers. You do. We don't set the path. You do.
You are intelligent, capable, and human. You have personal values and beliefs. And being human makes you susceptible to getting your values and beliefs mixed up in the current of life.
It’s okay.
We know whatever you have experienced, are currently experiencing, or will experience will contribute to cultivating your innate uniqueness. You are a dreamer, as well. You are capable of thinking beyond and tirelessly working to discover more. You are a woman shaped by college sports. You are Posse. And being posse means you are different. It means you are made with a tireless drive for excellence and you have a motor to match your drive. Sometimes you harness your motor, and sometimes it hijacks you. We know. Same here. We want to encourage you to walk in your own way at your own pace with joy by releasing the passionate and people-centered leader within you so you thrive in the grind and inspire others to do the same!
Here’s the deal…
in the world of sports, people have continuously broken barriers, shattered records, and defied expectations. The path to success is paved with perseverance, dedication, and a relentless pursuit of excellence. Only recently have the human costs of this pursuit been brought to the surface on a larger scale. But for those of us who have had the blessing of competing at a high level, we've been carrying the burden of the human cost for years. Someone coined it as "The Burden of Greatness". We’ve all been shaped by it.
As a former D1 athlete…
I can personally attest to the internal struggle I've faced in my pursuit of excellence. It is a struggle that is typically hidden behind a facade of strength for fear that vulnerability might undermine perceived competence. It is a struggle for which many seek guidance and support, but they want that guidance and support to come from people who they trust. I know I did. And finding those people can be hard.
Posse tend to trust people who have been in their shoes, who understand their powerful drive for excellence, their innate desire to keep going strong, and their real fear of who they might be if they do not perform. Posse also tend to trust people who both challenge and enjoy them; people who lead them to the best solutions, not the easiest ones.
As for you…
If this sounds all too familiar and it is is what you are looking for, you’ve found it. Welcome!
We are here to connect you to one another and to come alongside you to help you infuse your excellence with endurance. We want to co-develop an exceptional class of leaders prepared to tackle the complexities of our modern world and create cultures that promote personal growth, maximize performance outcomes, create a sense of belonging and purpose, and enhance overall well-being for teams, communities, and families.
To start…
I wanted to give you a peek into my brain so you know I really mean it when I say we do not give you answers. We host community and conversations to invite you to let yourself be still, known, and enjoyed so you develop your MettlEdge and grow!
We hope you will listen to our podcast and join our online community today. I can't wait to be inspired by you!Jill
